30 replacements for Jimmy Fallon on Tonight Show
By Jeremy Dick
27. Neil Patrick Harris
Veteran actor Neil Patrick Harris has television experience dating back to his childhood breakout role as the main character in Doogie Howser, M.D. He has been even more successful in his adult career. He has been featured as one of the leads on the popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother and had entertaining roles in films like Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. You’d be hard-pressed to try to find someone out there that doesn’t like the guy.
Harris is a funny guy, but he knows how to work with crowds and other celebrities, as well. He actually has an extensive resume when it comes to hosting prominent programs. The talented actor has hosted the Tony Awards four times and the Primetime Emmy Awards two times. He also hosted the 87th Academy Awards, making him the first openly gay man to do so.
Experience with acting on Broadway will only further lend itself to the credibility of Harris. Coming in with loads of comedy and TV hosting experience, the actor could be an excellent potential replacement for Jimmy Fallon. Surely, Harris would be interested, as it could be yet another impressive accomplishment added to the resume of the former child star.
