2. Seth Meyers

This entry is not only a great idea for a potential Jimmy Fallon, but probably the most realistic of them all to actually happen. The reasons for this should be obvious. After all, Seth Meyers has already replaced Jimmy Fallon once before, by taking over Late Night when Fallon left to take on Jay Leno’s gig on The Tonight Show.

Given the opportunity to host his own late night talk show, Meyers knocked the ball out of the park. He’s doing just fine with his hosting duties on Late Night, and he could probably be considered “on deck” should Fallon depart The Tonight Show. Meyers would definitely be the guy to make such a transition as seamless as possible.

And to be quite honest, this is definitely the most realistic option. NBC seems to enjoy hiring from within, and so as long as Meyers keeps doing well on his own program, he’ll always be a top contender. Late Night is basically a stepping stone for The Tonight Show, even if that doesn’t always quite work out. Just ask Conan O’Brien about that. But as long as Fallon doesn’t show back up a short time later wanting his Tonight Show job back, Meyers would be a lock.
