8. Joel McHale

Comedian Joel McHale has been seen in many feature films and television shows, his most notable of which was probably hosting The Soup from 2004 to 2015. The E! program featured McHale as the host of a clip show, with the comedian poking fun at a lot of the craziest moments from other television programs airing at the time. It was this show that set the stage for imitators like Tosh.O and Ridiculousness.

If you never watched The Soup, you may still recognize McHale as Jeff Winger from the sitcom Community. The cult classic series aired for five seasons on NBC, before concluding with its sixth season on Yahoo. A feature film is supposedly in the works which will continue the story of the series. Although the cast featured an ensemble, McHale was the one with top billing and arguably the lead actor.

McHale will be a TV star once again with a new sitcom airing on CBS called The Great Indoors. How successful this series will become remains to be seen, but having McHale on board certainly helps give it a head start. But should the spot ever open up for Jimmy Fallon to be replaced on The Tonight Show, McHale would make a superb host of the series.
