30 replacements for Jimmy Fallon on Tonight Show

16. Tom Green
Sure, Tom Green’s popularity peak came sometime around the late 1990s. But as a lot of 80s and 90s pop culture staples are making their return, what’s retro is now what’s in. If we can buy Crystal Pepsi and Surge in gas stations again, then can’t we see Tom Green hosting another talk show? It’s really not that crazy of an idea.
Green’s feature film Freddy Got Fingered gained him a reputation as a bad comedian, even if it was much better than it got credit for. It’s a shame as his MTV talk show was always very entertaining, originally airing from 1999 to 2003. After doing a great job guest-hosting for David Letterman, MTV later brought back Green for The New Tom Green Show, but by then, the MTV audience was gravitating more towards “reality TV”.
However, Green would remain an excellent talk show host by producing his own show which aired on his official website. In front of the right audience, such as those who watch late night television, Green would absolutely be a great fit. He’s very skilled with producing entertaining sketches and songs, and pulls off very interesting interviews with his special celebrity guests as well.
