19. Craig Ferguson

Scottish-American comedian Craig Ferguson is certainly very qualified to take on a late night talk show like The Tonight Show. For many years, he hosted The Late Late Show with success, eventually stepping down to pursue other gigs. He has also appeared on virtually every other late night TV show, including The Tonight ShowThe Late ShowLate Night, and many more. And he has been funny every time.

On his own series, Ferguson was one of the more entertaining late night hosts. His monologues were always amusing and his celebrity guest interviews were personable and entertaining. Ever since voluntarily leaving the show, the world of late night TV has been missing Ferguson, and he would most definitely welcome back if he were to ever decide to return. Maybe he just needs a good reason.

These days, you can find Ferguson hosting the TV series Celebrity Name Game, which is probably the best modern game show. But perhaps Ferguson’s decision to leave late night TV was because he was buried on The Late Late Show. Maybe he would consider returning to late night if he were to be offered a spot as prominent as the host of The Tonight Show?
