While stopping by The Late Show wth Stephen Colbert, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper talked about the presidential election and his obsession with Dungeons and Dragons.

It’s hard not to like CNN anchor Anderson Cooper thanks to his charisma and generally friendly personality when off camera. However, nerds everywhere will become even bigger Cooper fans after watching this.

On Wednesday night’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Cooper stopped by to chat with the late-night host. The two started off by talking about bro hugs, which Cooper apparently isn’t too big on, even when he tried with Colbert.

However, the most fascinating part of the interview was the revelation that Cooper is a huge Dungeons and Dragons fan. Colbert mentioned that Cooper had Elvish features, and then the two began going off about D&D, with Cooper eventually admitting that one of his characters was in fact an elf.

Of course, those who haven’t played D&D were probably a little confused as to what was going on, but anyone that’s played role playing games will definitely appreciate their conversation. You can check out the interview with Cooper and Colbert nerding out in the YouTube video below.

Anyone that follows Colbert knows that he is a die-hard fan of the Lord of the Rings universe and that he geeks out on anything fantasy related. That’s why it’s no surprise that as soon as Cooper brought up Dungeons and Dragons that the conversation completely became focused on that for a solid couple of minutes.
