27. Donald Trump’s vague plan to conquer ISIS
The fear of terrorism has been what Donald Trump has been riding the hardest to launch himself to the top of the Republican party. Trump has constantly name dropped ISIS and mentions his vague plans about defeating them, but apparently that’s by his own design. The Republican nominee suggests that he has a great plan to beat them, but he won’t say what it is.
On The Late Show, Stephen Colbert played a clip of Trump talking about ISIS and how he plans to defeat them. Trump only mentioned that his idea was to be “unpredictable”, and that was how he was going to stop ISIS. Colbert found it funny that Trump was putting ISIS “on notice” like that was really going to instill fear in them, and set to mock it in humorous fashion.
When the clip stopped playing, Colbert had vanished from his desk. It was apparent that he was being unpredictable to contrast Trump’s statements. Seconds later, he would jump into view to shout at the camera, and followed up with a joke about how he was merely being “unpredictable”:
“BOO! Did it work? Is ISIS defeated yet? No? Well, that was predictable.”
