Comedy Bang! Bang!’s final 10 episodes of Season 5 will air starting on October 28 on IFC.
The TV version of the popular podcast Comedy Bang! Bang! is coming to an end after Season 5. According to Deadline, the IFC mock talk show will return for a 10-episode run on October 28, airing back-to-back episodes on Friday nights through December 10.
The first 10 episodes of the fifth season concluded in July, with the 20-episode order matching the total for its second and third season, while Season 4 contained 40 episodes. The series premiered in 2012, running for 10 episodes in its first season. A total of 110 episodes will have aired by its series finale.
Creator and host Scott Aukerman first announced on news on Twitter last week, writing:
He went on to promise some “crazy stuff” in the final 10 episodes, teased the possibility of a 10-year reunion show, and thanked his co-hosts throughout the years, including Kid Cudi, current bandleader “Weird Al” Yankovic and Reggie Watts, who now leads the house band on The Late Late Show with James Corden. He ended by thanking IFC for “keeping something so weird on for so long.”
“Comedy Bang! Bang! has been an incredibly important show for IFC,” network president Jennifer Caserta said in a statement. “Over five seasons and more than 100 episodes, Scott Aukerman has been a comedic force who has meant so much to us, Comedy Bang! Bang! had a unique sensibility in the comedy space, and delivered an amazing array of A-list guest stars.”
The show, like the podcast, features comedy sketches, interviews with celebrity guests, as well as comedic performers playing characters. Guest stars for the final episodes will include Malin Akerman, Mike Colter, Kaley Cuoco, Ben Folds, Gillian Jacobs, Allison Janney, Jason Mantzoukas, Haley Joel Osment, Chris Parnell, Krysten Ritter, Adam Scott, Paul F. Tompkins, Matt Walsh, and the return of Watts.

Comedy Bang! Bang! developed a strong following, but was never a strong ratings performer. On occasion, it scored a dreaded 0.0 rating among adults 18-49, and reached a low of 11,000 live viewers. The first four seasons are currently available to stream on Netflix, while the podcast version is released on a weekly basis.
