29. Jimmy Fallon, as Trump, clarifies Megyn Kelly comment

In the fall of 2015, Donald Trump was basically having a feud in the media with Fox News journalist Megyn Kelly. He had thrown a lot of insults her way, but perhaps the most controversial was after the GOP debates when she asked him a series of tough questions. He soon after stated that Kelly was having “blood coming out of her wherever” which possibly suggested she was on her menstrual period, and that was why she was supposedly being harsh with him.

Needless to say, the comment was blown up in the media, with accusations of Trump being a sexist by crudely insulting women. Trump would later say that he was referring to her nose or ears, or some other orifice, and wasn’t suggesting Kelly was on her period. You never really know with Trump, but the excuse was spoofed by Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

Dressing up as Trump at the podium of a press conference, Fallon echoed Trump’s excuse over the Kelly comment, and then “clarified” some other things he recently said as well. For example, when he said that his wife had “the best melons in the world”, he was literally talking about her honeydew melons. It all further demonstrated how ridiculous Trump’s excuse was.
