25. Jon Stewart

Recently, Jon Stewart returned to late night and proved yet again why he’s the man.

After his brief appearance on Colbert’s own show, Jon Stewart reminded audiences the legacy he left behind when he left The Daily Show after sixteen years. Part of this legacy comes from his humble beginning at MTV with The Jon Stewart Show, which helped earn him the position on The Daily Show after Craig Kilborn.

When he announced that he’d be leaving The Daily Show, he said he still had a lot of ideas and that you get into the business because “you have a point of view and something to express.”

As we’ve seen, Stewart still has plenty of things to say about the current political status of America, and by association, the media outlets who report on it. And these distinct expressions and points of view have left a gaping hole in the political satire world. He might have a four-year deal with HBO right now, but guess who’s coincidentally got four years left on his contract?

But let’s be real, what would be a better place to make his late night return than The Late Show?
