6. Amy Poehler

Since Tina Fey is on this list, her gal pal also gets to be on here because they’re one and the same.

Along with her extensive history with Saturday Night Live, Amy Poehler also starred as Leslie Knope for seven seasons on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, a comedy sitcom that dealt with the political ongoings of Poehler’s bureaucratic character. Poehler’s performance earned her a Golden Globe in 2014.

She even hosted the Golden Globes ceremony for the first time in 2013 with Tina Fey. Their opening monologue was so spectacular and so well-received that they returned again to host in both 2014 and 2015.

Amy Poehler is known for being one of the top comedians because she mixes comedy with class and expertly delivers some of the sharpest one-liners around. She’s not going to step on anyone’s toes, but if she does, she would probably be able to do it without anyone noticing because she’s a lot smarter than some of the folks who would find themselves as the butt of her jokes.

On The Late Show, she could answer viewers questions Ask Amy-style the same way she does on her YouTube channel during Smart Girls at the Party, which I’m sure you can guess, features a lot of smart girls.

Yeah, those exist.
