19. Larry David

The Seinfeld series didn’t only set Jerry for life but also his co-creator, Larry David, who went on to create Curb Your Enthusiasm, an award-winning show that was recently announced to be returned for a ninth season, after five years of being off the air.

Many people on this list would probably list Larry David as one of their comedic influences. Not only is he one of the kings of black comedy and fluent in social awkwardness, David’s charm comes from his relatability. Larry David didn’t become a successful comedian by making fun of one  specific group of people, but simply by poking fun at the daily situations that people generally find themselves in. It’s easy stuff that doesn’t put anyone in the spotlight.

And David’s no stranger to politics either. In 2010, he wrote an incredible op-ed piece for the New York Times titled “Thanks for the Tax Cut!” that sarcastically critiqued George W. Bush’s tax cuts during his presidency. More recently, he made a few pit stops atSaturday Night Live to deliver his stellar impersonation of former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

After Curb Your Enthusiams‘ ninth season return, David will be pretty free, CBS. So get to it.
