12. Stewart takes down the RNC on The Late Show

Jon Stewart might have stepped down as the host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show in 2015, but he was far from finished. With plenty of opinions to share about the current state of the political landscape, notably the fiasco that was the Republican National Convention, Stewart revisited his old friend Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, and completely took control of his desk.

As before, Stewart put the screws to Sean Hannity, whom he referred to as “Lumpy”. It was easy for him to showcase Hannity’s hypocrisy by showing clips of him bashing Obama for things in the past that he seemed to be OK with when it came to Donald Trump. He would do things like constantly bash Obama for using a teleprompter, but give praise to Trump for doing so.

Stewart laid into Hannity pretty hard, and the following line pretty much summed him up and others like him as a whole:

“Here’s where we are. Either Lumpy and his friends are lying about being bothered by thin-skinned, authoritarian, less-than-Christian, readers of prompter being president, or they don’t care, as long as it’s THEIR thin-skinned, prompter, authoritarian, tyrant narcissist.”
