4. Colombian Decaffeinated Coffee Crystals

Hidden camera pranks are extremely popular, and SNL can’t seem to understand why. In one of the best parodies they’ve ever done, a Swedish hidden camera crew went around telling people they were drinking Colombian decaffeinated coffee crystals instead of real coffee.

It’s an extremely mundane prank and one that would hardly get a kick out of people in real life, but the Swedish camera crew stated that it took them 264 takes before they could get a positive reaction. And one of the people who didn’t take kindly to the prank was Chris Farley, who takes coffee very seriously.

While it isn’t Farley’s most famous sketch, it did produce arguably the most famous gif attributed to his name. Some people may recognize it’s from SNL, but there aren’t many that can say which sketch it’s from. But there are some amazing moments beyond that gif. In the beginning of his Hulk-like meltdown, Farley flips over a table, beats up the waiter that revealed the prank to him, then proceeds to throw several cream pies at the other restaurant goers. It would take multiple shots to the head with a frying pan before he finally got subdued.

This sketch is just a prime example of how quickly Chris Farley can escalate a situation, as well as take a simple premise and expand its horizons. While the script for this sketch was already well done, it needed Farley to bring it over the top, and he did exactly that.
