10. Gap Girls

Nobody can pull off drag as well as Adam Sandler, David Spade, and Chris Farley can. This recurring sketch consists of those three pretending to be mall employees who behaved like Valley Girls and don’t take their job seriously.

On occasion, Rob Schneider would appear in the sketch, also in drag, and because he (she) worked at a donut shop, the Gap girls would refer to him (her) as Donut Hut Slut. But by far the most memorable Gap Girls moment is when they’re sitting together eating French fries – or rather, Chris Farley is eating French fries.

Predictably, Farley starts taking one to two fries from David Spade before it turns into one to two handfuls of fries. Adam Sandler tries awkwardly to get Farley to share the fries, but he (she) ignores him (her). Then when David Spade tries to remind Farley that he (she’s) on a diet, Farley snaps, gets rid of his Valley Girl accent, and yells “Lay off me, I’m starving” in an almost demonic manner.

Anyone who works at SNL is a trained professional when it comes to comedy. Hardly anything makes their cast members break, but when Chris Farley snaps like that and tries to strangle David Spade, you can see Sandler do his best to not burst into laughter.

Farley brings out the best in others, but he’s also so talented that you practically have to be a Queen’s Guard to not show any emotion when doing a scene with him. While SNL skits are generally performed in one take, any rehearsal involving Farley usually makes for great blooper reel material.
