25. Conan O’Brien proves Jennifer Garner wrong

Sometimes, talk show hosts will do nothing but talk up their guests, fluffing them up as if they could do no wrong. Other times, the host may call the celebrity out if they’re wrong on something, even something as trivial as saying whether or not a certain word actually exists. The latter was the case when Conan schooled Jennifer Garner on his show in 2010.

During an interview which was otherwise going well, Conan casually mentioned how Garner had “snuck into the room”. At which point, Garner “corrected” Conan by saying that she sneaked into the room, and that “snuck” was supposedly not a word. The actress then mocked Conan for not knowing that, despite having went to Harvard. This created a tense pause, but Conan knew he was right, and wasn’t willing to just let it go.

Literally pulling out a dictionary right there on television, Conan looked up the word “snuck”, and it was, in fact, right there in the book. Conan laughs maniacally while pointing out the word, while Garner does her best to keep her irritation hidden. The funny part is that Conan likely wouldn’t have called her out for saying “sneaked” if she didn’t feel the need to add in the rude Harvard comment.
