29. Kanye West literally cries on The Tonight Show

A-list hip hop sensation Kanye West has made a name for himself with his contributions to pop music, but he’s arguably more well known for some of the crazy things he says and does outside of his songs. Perhaps the most infamous moment was when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards, praising a Beyonce music video while drunker than an uncle at Christmas.

In return, the entire world basically lambasted West for being so obnoxious, with even President Obama caught on tape calling him a “jackass”. So when West appeared on The Tonight Show to do an interview with Jay Leno, there was no way to avoid the elephant in the room, and Leno proceeded to question West over the incident. It was all uncomfortable at best.

For what it’s worth, West seemed genuinely remorseful over the situation, claiming he’d love to apologize to Swift in person for ruining her moment. Leno then hit close to home by asking West what his deceased mother would think about his behavior, causing the rapper to shed tears as he surmised that she’d consider it unacceptable and give him a lecture. It wasn’t wrong to chastise West, but bringing up his mother, whom he was very close to, may have pushed it a bit too far.
