21. Heidi Klum loses her expensive bra on The Tonight Show

The night Heidi Klum appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2003 was always meant to be memorable. The actress was set to perform an actual striptease on the program, but there was an understandable reason for it. She was wearing a diamond-studded bra from Victoria’s Secret that literally cost $8 million, with matching $3 million knickers. Nothing in this entire paragraph has been made up.

Before the planned striptease could take place, Leno was conducting an ordinary interview with Klum, when the actress suddenly paused. She told the host that she believed her bra had popped open underneath her shirt. Klum held her shirt on while staying frozen, unsure of what to do.

Comedian Martin Short was also on the show as a guest, and together he and Leno used their suit jackets to “shield” Klum from the studio audience so she could discreetly put the bra back on. It quickly became apparent that they were more concerned with trying to catch a peek at the wardrobe malfunction for themselves, so the show went to an ad break to fix the situation. The planned striptease still took place later on the show.
