We’ve seen a lot of wild antics and otherwise crazy shenanigans on late night talk shows for the past several decades, leaving us no shortage to choose from when picking the craziest moments. Let’s go through and pick out 30 of the most shocking moments in late night TV history.

When late night television talk show hosts bring in hundreds of special guests of all magnitudes throughout the courses of their careers, there’s bound to be some bad apples. While most interviews with celebrities are more or less normal if not slightly awkward, some are much more unpredictable than that. Sometimes, an ordinary interview can become somewhat reminiscent of a televised train wreck.

Who knows what’s going on in the minds of these particular stars when they make these baffling appearances? It would appear some may be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, others might be downright dumb, and yet more could just be short-tempered or otherwise very weird. Or maybe they’re just there to make some sort of major announcement or, well, just be quirky or silly. This can sometimes be frustrating for the hosts, but it usually always makes for entertaining television for the viewers.
