The Fox News host fires back at the former Daily Show host over his recent criticism on The Late Show.

Sean Hannity went on a profanity-laced tirade against Jon Stewart on his radio show after the comedian called out the Fox News host’s hypocrisy in supporting Donald Trump in a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, on which he serves as executive producer.

“I see they brought that idiot, Jon Stewart, back from the dead,” said Hannity, who Stewart referred to as “Lumpy” in the viral segment.

He continued:

"“I was right about Obama and you were a fool who had your head so far up Obama’s ass, Jon Stewart. I’ve never seen anybody kiss an ass like you kiss his… and now you’re sucking up to (Hillary Clinton), too… We’ve got 95 million Americans out of the labor force, Jon. Do you care about them? I know you’re a rich liberal. You donating money to the 46 million American families on food stamps, Jon? Hey Jon, you helping out the 50 million Americans in poverty? Hey Jon, are you gonna use your wealth from all of your comedy writers that lay out the material for you, are you gonna help pay down the debt Obama has accumulated? More debt than every other president before him combined? Are you gonna help, Jon, the 1-in-5 American families in this country that don’t have a single family member that have a job?”"

But Hannity wasn’t done, continuing his attacks against Stewart on Twitter in response to a fan of the retired Daily Show host:

Despite the long-winded rant, Hannity never actually rebutted the specific points Stewart made about the conservative pundit admiring things about Trump that he criticized Obama for, such as his perceived elitism, questions regarding their religious background, and use of the teleprompter.

Stewart joined Stephen Colbert for two segments during his week of live shows covering the RNC, but it’s unclear whether he’ll also appear during this week’s live episodes surrounding the Democratic National Convention, which is already shaping up to be more raucous and dysfunctional than its Republican counterpart due to Bernie Sanders supporters’ anger over the contents of the DNC email leak. Colbert not only reunited with Stewart last week, but he also briefly brought back his Colbert Report persona to revive his popular “The Word” segment to coin the phrase “Trumpiness” to describe the Republican nominee’s reliance on feelings over facts.
