22. Michael Phelps
Fresh off his dominating performance in the 2008 Olympics, Michael Phelps helped ring in Season 34 of SNL with his presence as host. It was supposed to be Phelps’s show, but a combination of Tina Fey debuting her classic Sarah Palin impression and a bunch of half-assed jokes about how much he eats caused Phelps to flop pretty hard.
In the skit, “The Michael Phelps Diet”, he looks just pained to be there. The addition of disgraced Jared Fogle from the Subway commercials seals the deal. Michael Phelps is just unfunny. Speaking of Subway, Phelps sounds almost identical to Happy Gilmore when he does a commercial for Subway.
Phelps gets a slight pass because nothing he did was insanely cringe-worthy, it just felt like they could have swapped him out with a scarecrow and nothing would’ve changed.
