Emilia Clarke reveals that she watched her nude scene on Game of Thrones with her parents
Emilia Clarke discussed her notable nude scene from a recent episode of Game of Thrones during an appearance on the British late-night series The Graham Norton Show. It saw her character, Daenerys Targaryen, emerge unburnt from a fiery temple while naked.
The actress began by admitting that she’s “not really anything like Khaleesi,” but is actually much more similar to her character Louisa Clark in the new film, Me Before You. Host Graham Norton then asked her about her parents’ worries that she wasn’t getting enough screen time in the first few seasons of Game of Thrones.
“There’s some episodes where maybe they’re like, ‘No, it was great, but you’re sort of not really on very much,” Clarke explained. However, she did make sure to encourage them to watch the aforementioned episode where she was nude, which she admits that “in hindsight, might have not been the episode to choose.”
Norton agreed that there was a lot of her in that episode, and encouraged fellow guest Matt LeBlanc that it “might be the episode to dip into,” after he admitted that he had never watched the HBO series. “We can really see how you doin’,” the actor added, referencing the popular slogan said by his character, Joey, on Friends, flustering Clarke in the process.
Norton then showed a far away still of the scene, and asked her about her experience watching the episode with her parents. “Did you have to leave the room, or did you all just sit there and say, ‘Okay, we’re watching this?’” he inquired. Clarke replied that they probably started talking about something important as a distraction like Top Gear, gesturing towards LeBlanc, who recently joined the new incarnation of the popular BBC series.
