Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Recap – 2-4

You know it’s going to be a good episode of Fallon’s Tonight Show when he has two guests who could easily be first guests. Thursday welcomed Jonah Hill and Fox News’ Megyn Kelly. Here’s how it went down.

Monologue

Jimmy kicked things off with some humor about Trump’s plane making an emergency landing over Nashville. “When asked what the problem was, the pilot said he just couldn’t take it anymore.” Jimmy pivoted from there to take aim at the democrats by poking fun at a statement Hillary made. She used to put on a baseball cap and glasses when Bill was in office so she could walk around Washington D.C. without being noticed. That set up a solid joke about Bill hitting on who he thought was a stranger. Everyone is talking about the Super Bowl. Jimmy was able to get some cracks in about Peyton Manning’s age. It was a lengthy monologue that touched on America’s outrageous spending on Marijuana last year, and the college Oral Roberts making FitBits mandatory.

Joke of the Monologue: “The Super Bowl is coming up this Sunday. A man who has been to all 50 Super Bowls will be attending this weekend. But enough about Peyton Manning.”

To The Desk

Jimmy announced that on Sunday, February 14 NBC will air a Tonight Show special that recaps the last two years of the Fallon Tonight Show era. So be sure to DVR that on February 14.

Tonight Show Puppy Predictors: Super Bowl 50 Edition

Jimmy and company put out two bowls of kibble for several puppies. The two bowls have the two team logos on them. Whichever team gets the most puppies by it will reportedly win the Super Bowl. The puppies went to the Broncos bowl so be sure to get your bets in. Check out the clip below.

The Guests

Jonah Hill

Jonah came out chatting about a friend of his named Shane Malik. Apparently this friend went on a boat ride with Jonah and Jimmy recently. He said he’s doing well. That’s pretty cool that a normal friend would be chatted up on The Tonight Show. From there, Jonah talked about taking his sister to see Adele when she performed at SNL. He was there with Bradley Cooper and his sister who was in tears while she performed. J.J. Abrams was also there. Bradley Cooper knows him from Alias, but Jonah doesn’t really know him. When introduced, he said he gave him a titty twister. What a strange story. Jonah was pretty embarrassed, and Bradley Cooper asked him what the hell that was about. The next day he sent Abrams a email apologizing. Eventually he got to talking about his upcoming movie Hail, Caesar! He says his part is very small, but he was excited to be a part of it. 

Emotional Interview

In this bit, Jimmy and Jonah had a normal conversation until a bell rings. Once the bell rings, an emotion will appear on the screen. They have to shift the conversation in the direction of that emotion. Jonah and Jimmy being such strong improvisors made it a memorable bit. Check it out below.

Megyn Kelly

Jimmy complimented her work during the first Republican debate. She said her life sort of changed after that debate. She added that she can no longer go on Twitter. Donald Trump got a tough question, but Kelly said that all the candidates got tough questions. About the last republican debate, the one where Trump didn’t appear, she said they still had to prepare for him showing up at the last minute. Fox News had a pile of questions for Trump if he would’ve showed up on the night of the debate. Kelly added that he thinks skipping the debate hurt him in Iowa.

The episode concluded with a performance from Wiz Khalifa. He always puts on a good show. No hype man either. Tune in on Friday night when Jimmy welcomes Rebel Wilson and Jack Huston.
