Donald Trump is making his media push leading into Iowa next month. He appeared on Fallon back in September of last year, and made another appearance on Monday. Rather than appearing in a goofy Tonight Show sketch, this recent appearance was all about the campaign, his platform and even squeezed in an impromptu job interview handled by Jimmy.

The big takeaway from Trump’s appearance was the job interview. After the commercial break, Jimmy asked if he could lob some typical job interview questions at Donald. Jimmy asked, “How did you hear about the job?,” “What are your strengths and weaknesses?,” and “Are you willing to relocate?” Donald handled the answers as a true presidential candidate. Check out the clip in its entirety below.

The first half of the interview (the actual interview, not the mock job interview) was more serious than his last Fallon appearance. Fallon has a reputation for lobbing softball questions to serious guests like Trump. It wasn’t exactly a Colbert-level interview in terms of depth, but it was more depth than what was expected. The conversation between the two ranged from Iowa, debate preparation, Obama and his handling of the second amendment, and his possible future rival candidate Hillary Clinton.

"It’s getting the conversation going. We do have to find out what’s going on. This is a deep-seated hatred. – Donald Trump"

Fallon brought up some of Donald’s controversial statements about banning Muslims from entering the country. Trump’s response was that he was trying to open a dialogue in the country, and that it’s all about the safety of the American people. Fallon responded by saying that some people agree with this policies, but there are plenty of people who don’t. Jimmy’s reply even received some applause from the audience. From there, Trump changed the subject to the competition, and cited polls that have him in the lead. He says that he hasn’t even focused on Hillary and that there are many polls that have him beating her already. When the second amendment came up,  Trump stated that he thought Obama was being truthful when he shed tears during his speech about gun control, which was a surprise to Jimmy. He concluded the topic by saying that the second amendment shouldn’t be messed with.

Actor Ken Jeong was the second guest of the night. He took a swipe at Donald’s ideas by saying his new movie Ride Along 2 wouldn’t be possible without diversity. Trump didn’t stick around for that interview.
