Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is set to lay the smackdown on the Saturday Night Live season 42 finale with musical guest Katy Perry.

One of the best ever celebrity guest hosts of Saturday Night Live is Dwayne Johnson. Every appearance he has made on the program has been phenomenal. Whether he’s in a wrestling ring, a high budget blockbuster movie, or taking part in comedic sketches on SNL, Johnson always delivers. So that’s what makes him perfect for the Season 42 finale of SNL.

Fuse.tv reports that Johnson is set to be the host for the May 20 episode of the show, which will be the last one of the season. Katy Perry will be joining the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion as the show’s musical guest. Considering all the hits Perry has, clearly NBC is looking to close this season out with a bang.

This will be the fifth time hosting for Johnson, making him a part of the “Five-Timers Club”. That would be an imaginary club name dubbed by Tom Hanks when he hosted the show for the fifth time in 1990. However, the Rock also once made a surprise appearance on a 2009 SNL cold opening for a segment called “The Rock Obama”.

I’ve got the line-up for the episodes leading up to the finale as well, in case you’re wondering. On May 6, The Avengers star Chris Pine and LCD Soundsystem will be on the show. May 13 will see Melissa McCarthy host with HAIM as the musical guest. Finally, the May 20 episode will be the finale with The Rock and Katy Perry, as mentioned above.
