Last Week Tonight host John Oliver and SNL boss Lorne Michaels will appear on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

John Oliver and Lorne Michaels are among the guests who will appear in Season 8 of Jerry Seinfeld’s popular web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the host of HBO’s Last Week Tonight and the SNL creator join a roster that also includes writer-director Judd Apatow, as well as comedians Margaret Cho, JB Smoove and Jim Gaffigan. The new season is slated to premiere on June 15.

The series, which debuted in 2012, is created, directed and hosted by Seinfeld, and features the former sitcom star as he drives in a vintage car with a fellow comedian to get coffee at a cafe or restaurant. It’s distributed by the streaming service Crackle, which has already renewed Comedians in Cars for a ninth season.

Oliver joins a growing list of current and former late-night hosts that have appeared on the program, including Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, David Letterman, Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah. Others individuals who have gone on a ride with Seinfeld include his show’s co-creator Larry David, Ricky Gervais, Alec Baldwin, Mel Brooks, Michael Richards, Don Rickles, Louis CK, Patton Oswalt, Howard Stern, Kevin Hart, Amy Schumer, Jim Carrey, Steve Martin and even President Barack Obama. The late comic Garry Shandling appeared on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee just months before his death for what would be one of his last public appearances in an episode titled “It’s Great That Garry Shandling Is Still Alive.”

SNL alums such as Sarah Silverman, Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, Fred Armisen, Tina Fey and Seinfeld co-star Julia Louis-Dreyfus have also guested on the series. Michaels, who serves as executive producer on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers, seldom appears on talk shows, but did grant an interview to Marc Maron’s popular WTF podcast after the comic routinely mentioned him and his unsuccessful audition for SNL in prior episodes.

The guest line-up for the eighth season of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee was announced along with the news that Crackle has picked up original series Snatch, based on the Guy Ritchie film of the same name. It joins drama The Art of More, starring Dennis Quaid, and the upcoming series StartUp, led by Adam Brody, Martin Freeman and co-starring Seinfeld‘s Wayne Knight. The company is also teaming with NBC Sports to produce new episodes of Sports Jeopardy! hosted by Dan Patrick. It will air on NBCSN following coverage of the Rio Olympics starting on Aug. 6, airing nightly for two weeks, before returning in fall 2016. The deal also includes past episodes of the game show that have been available on Crackle.com on a weekly basis since fall 2014.
